Bitter Pops Community Questions
As communicated yesterday, Bitter Pops will temporarily close business operations at 5:00 PM today (Saturday 3/21/2020) so that we may align with Governor Pritzker’s Stay-At-Home mandate. Many of our Guests, Neighbors, and Business Partners have reached out with questions about our decision to temporarily close as the State of Illinois has declared our business “essential” (meaning that we could stay open).
Since learning about the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, we have done our best to align our in-Shoppe activities and protocol with the best practices outlined by our local and national officials including social distancing, strict sanitation, and reduced retail hours. While we have followed these new practices strictly, we know that we can and must do better. Therefore, the Crew at Bitter Pops is taking a pause so that we can make the necessary adjustments to better serve you and our neighborhood in a safe and responsible manner.
Your support has humbled us through these past weeks, and we cannot thank you enough for all of your well wishes, and understanding. Our objective from the beginning has been to do our part to help flatten the curve so as to not overwhelm our incredible health care professionals. We are all in this together.
Finally, this pause will allow the Bitter Pops Crew to evaluate the best path forward provided that our overall goal is to do our part during these difficult times. We will maintain a high level of communication with you all as we work on our next steps. Be well, and stay safe.

State of Illinois Governor Pritzker – Mandate: Stay-At-Home Order
Bitter Pops will temporarily close beginning Saturday 3/21/2020 at 5:00pm based on Governor Pritzker’s mandate for Illinois residents to Stay-At-Home. We remain extremely hopeful that this mandate will help to flatten the infection curve, and thus help our incredible Health Care professionals manage through this difficult time.
We wish the very best for you, your families, and your friends. Take care of yourself, be well, and please do your part to heed this call to action. We are all in this together, and when we return to business as normal, we are very much looking forward to raising a pint (or two) with each and every one of you.

COVID-19 Update: Helping to flatten the curve
As we continue to learn more about the COVID-19 virus, and what we can do to help mitigate the transfer of this virus, Bitter Pops will be suspending service in our Tasting Room beginning today (3/15/2020). In addition, we are canceling any and all Tasting Room events including the Hazy Madness Tournament. Finally, the Bitter Pops Tap Yours self-pour system will also be unavailable until further notice. Safety is our top priority, and as we receive/learn new information, Bitter Pops will continue to adjust our business practices to align with safe standards of operation.
We cannot express enough, our gratitude for your love, support, and understanding as we all adjust our daily habits and practices to do our part to help with this situation.
Our Retail Shoppe will remain open for your quick transactions. Please note, that at this time, we will only accept credit cards for payment (no cash). We have taken great steps to make sure we are in alignment with best practices to keep sanitation high, and social contact low in our Retail Shoppe.
Thank you for your continued support. Bitter Pops would not exist without YOU, and we are trying our best to do our part to serve our Neighborhood, Guests, and Crew Members to the best (and safest) of our ability.

The coronavirus outbreak has quickly become a public health emergency, and we are taking it very seriously at Bitter Pops as the SAFETY of our guests, crew members, community, and families are and always will be our top priority. For now, we are remaining open and are continuing to implement stricter cleaning and sanitation procedures. We are closely monitoring what the CDC and local officials are saying and we are following their recommendations and guidance.
You play a large role in protecting those around you. Please help us keep our community, guests, and crew members safe. Stay home if you are not feeling well, or are symptomatic.
